JGC Overseas Projects Safety Day Celebration 2014

 

 

 

 

 

The celebration includes activities such as the Safety Day Trade Fair participa-ted in by suppliers of safety equipment, PPE, supplies, tools and others.

 

A Site Tour was conducted and graced by the local commune of Thin Gia. This was followed by a lunch together with local authority guests and trade exhibitors.

 

In the afternoon at around 1:30pm, the program proper was started with a We-lcome Address by Mr. Les Wratten, JVD Site HSSE Manager, and a Management Commitment Speech by Mr. Yasutoshi Ozakazi who is Project Director (JGC), Mr. Yasuharu Yamaguchi, General Man-ager of No. 3 Project Division and Mr. Douglas Motion of NSRP. The awarding of the winners of the Poster Design Contest followed thereafter.

The program was witnessed by around 3,000 workers, staff and manage-ment which started early at 6:00am with a Grand Tool Box Meeting.

The program was attended by Senior Consortium Management, Zone Ma-nagement, Subcontractor Management and workers.

   

 

 

The highlight of the event was the opening of the Medical Center facilitated by the ISOS Medical Team and witnessed by Consortium Senior Management Representatives.

 

 

 

 

 

PETRONAS LNG TRAIN 9  (Malaysia) 19 June 2014

 

All 3,216 participants were divided into groups for the Tool Box Meeting in celebration of the Project's Safety Day. During this activity, the Senior Leadership showed their appreciation and recognition of the Workforce in doing a great job for the Project by; going around & building relationships, having conversations with them, getting to know how they were doing, listening to any concerns that they may have had, and acknowledging / encouraging them to keep on working safely for themselves and for their families.

  

 

 

 

Senior Leadership pose with workforce during the site walk through, wherein they had a talk with the workers regarding their thoughts and concerns. It is also a way of showing their appreciation of the great job that the workers were doing.

 

 

Lunch was served for all participants, including; the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) LT, IIF Orientation Trainers, IIF Area Leaders, and workers. Management was able to bond with the workers as they shared lunch, exchanged thoughts and ideas regarding the Project.

 

 

Mr. Tsutomo Akabane, JGC Senior Managing Director, delivers his remaks and expresses his high hopes in the intensified and successful implementation of the IIF program on the Project. 

The IIF Forum was conducted by JMJ Associate representative and attended by subcontractors' representatives who presented their IIF journey.

The Project's Safety Day Program was officially opened by Mr. Shingo Ito (Site Manager), Mr. Benasawa Hiroshi (JGC General Manager) and Mr. Barca Moussa (CA Project Director) who shared their messages to the Project about the Safety Day and their commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.

The winners of the Safety Day Poster cont-est are shown being awarded in the photo below. Also shown below are the awardees nominated as the safest workers on the Project.

  

 

 

 

 

 

ICHTHYS PROJECT (Darwin) 28 April 2014 

  

 

The Project celebrated their Safety Day last 28th April in line with the World Safety Day celebration. Some of the event highlights included a "Design a Bumper Sticker" contest.

 

 
The winner of the bumper sticker contest was Daniel Pethick (2nd from left), Serviceman with Leighton Contractor OPS-1. Shown on the left is his winning bumper sticker entry.

 

 

 

NT Government Speaker Aimée Tagell presen-ted the information about Safe driving on NT roads.

 

JKC & INPEX provided a Light Lunch for all attendees of this workshop.
