JGC Yokohama Safety Day, Safety Conference and Forum 2014

 

 

JGC YOKOHAMA SAFETY DAY, SAFETY CONFERENCE AND FORUM 2014

 

 

 

23 July 2014 - In his message to all overseas Offices and Projects, JGC President and Representative Director, Mr. Koichi Kawana emphasized the need to further strengthen JGC's presence as "TOP in HSE" and requested employees to passionately and energetically promote a campaign to further boost HSSE activities and culture at all domestic and overseas project sites and business operation bases and at the JGC Yokohama office. 

 

One of the highlights of this year's Safety Day Celebration was the Safety Poster Campaign. The HSSE Committee which facilitated this year's Safety Day event, were able to gather the 170 poster entries from project sites, overseas offices and business operation centers. The poster competition included family members of the staffs and workers. Among the entries submitted, winners would be chosen by managements and staffs at the Yokohama office. The winning entries are shown in below.

The Committee also distributed HSSE Commitment Stickers to all employees and workers in all offices and project sites for them to express their HSSE commitment and be always reminded to observe and practice this commitment.  These stickers are posted in areas visible to the employees. 

 

  

   

 

The major event of the Safety Day in JGC Yokohama was the gathering of leaders in a forum and conference to discuss relevant HSSE matters and updates.  In the early part of the day,  a forum was conducted to discuss; the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) program implementation, experiences and breakthrough. The second part of the day was allocated for the Safety Conference, wherein presentations were given on; the Current Safety and Security Situation of Overseas Construction Projects and JGC's countermeasures and Evolution through IIF Activities on domestic project sites.  An awarding ceremony was also held to recognize Accident-Free construction sites.
